Carne Crest is a stunning modern holiday home nestled into the cliff top, above Mawgan Porth Beach. With far-reaching panoramic views over the beach and beyond, Crane Crest is perfectly located for exploring all that the North Coast has to offer.
Sleeping 14, Carne Crest is full of modern touches with five king-size ensuite bedrooms and two further twin rooms. It has been beautifully renovated throughout with meticulous attention to detail, guests will appreciate the cool linens, Scandinavian-style furniture and two spacious open plan living/dining areas.
This stunning property offers two living areas and two kitchens: one on each floor, both benefitting from panoramic sea views. The first-floor kitchen is a fantastic social hub flooded by natural light through the panoramic windows. It’s the perfect space to rustle up a fabulous meal for friends or family, whilst soaking up the coastal views. Catering for a large family won’t be a problem, Carne Crest has plenty of room for everyone.
There are seven luxurious bedrooms here, on the first floor you’ll find a gorgeous ‘penthouse suite’ with a super-king size bed and generously-sized ensuite bathroom, alongside beautiful French doors that lead onto the private garden. On this floor you’ll also find a twin room.
Down on the ground floor, there are four spacious king size bedrooms and one twin room, all boasting ensuites. Guests will float away to the land of nod thanks to the sumptuous handmade pocket sprung mattresses with natural fillings, and super soft luxurious mattress toppers.
There is plenty of outside space at Carne Crest, too. In a peaceful location, there are six off road parking spaces in front of the property and located on a private road it is wonderfully quiet. At the rear of the property is a beautiful private garden with loads of room for surfboards or hanging up your wetsuits and storing buckets and spades for the daily stroll to the beach. At the front of the property there’s a lovely terrace with seating and gorgeous views over Mawgan Porth and beyond.
Facilities:
Mawgan Porth is the perfect location to relax, boasting acres of soft golden sand for all age groups to enjoy. In contrast to the huge, rugged north Cornwall cliffs, this award-winning west-facing beach is brilliant for sandcastles, but also rewards you with spectacular all-year-round sunsets, rock pooling, body boarding and beach walking. You cannot find a more select, peaceful choice for your holiday than here, so let yourself unwind.
If you are a nature lover, there are wonderfully scenic walks along the cliff tops here, jewelled in summer with sea pinks and gorse. The cliff geology provides a dramatic backdrop to the gentle flat of the bay, dominated by rugged rocks.
Mawgan Porth is a mere 4 miles from Newquay, and not far from Padstow so you’re in a great location to explore what Cornwall has to offer.
Renowned for its beaches, Newquay’s are amazingly clean, and generally dotted with surfers (it is a surfing mecca). The key beaches, Towan, Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne and Great Western, are all pretty sheltered and safe for swimming, too. The surfing is unmatched – Fistral Beach offers a world-class surfing experience. Nearby Watergate Bay is perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing, or try your hand at kayaking, coasteering, surf rafting and plenty of other adrenaline sports. A trip to Pollyjoke Beach is well worth a walk. Off the beaten track, it is a beautiful little cove set away from the main activity of Newquay. In spring, the beach is overlooked by dramatic huge fields of red poppies.
Newquay is set within a beautiful area of countryside with plenty of walks. Along with the South West Coast Path, if you want some peaceful beauty then why not opt to visit the bonsai, pagodas and ponds of The Japanese Garden? Trenance Gardens form another fine option for a day away from the beach.
An attraction for families is Newquay Zoo, set in over ten acres of sub-tropical lakeside gardens and home to many endangered species. The Blue Reef Aquarium with its shark tunnel is also a fab outing for a rainy day. Or you may fancy a special spa day, we recommend heading to Fistral Spa and Headland Spa.
Newquay is also a foodie’s paradise with a plethora of fun places to try.
