Great for families, Downderry Beach is a mix of sand and shingle. If you happen to be visiting when there’s a southerly swell and the winds are right, Downderry Beach is a great place to ride the waves, it’s much less populated than some of the nearby beaches.

The pretty seaside village of Downderry is situated in the southeast. Flanked by two steep hills, 1 mile to the west sits Seaton and to the east you’ll find Portwrinkle, just 3 miles away. In true Cornish village style, there’s a convenience shop, a church and a smattering of eateries – one of course being a traditional pub, Inn on the Shore.
