Family run since 1999, Life’s a Beach – or L.A.B to locals – perches just above the picturesque Summerleaze Beach in Bude, making it the perfect spot for some lunchtime grazing.
Open every day from 10am to 5pm, as the name suggests Life’s a Beach boasts a cool laidback style inspired by its coastal location. The menu will see you through with everything from small bites – such as salt ‘n pepper squid and Cornish marinere – to oh-so-tempting juicy L.A.B Burgers, beer-battered fish and chips and locally-made Cornish bratwursts. Not to forget its delicious breakfast offering (served 10-12noon), of epic Cornish proportions – but do you fill up on the full English or the further-flung “New Zealand” breakfast?
The cocktail menu is equally as seductive, with classics such as Aperol Spritz and Dark & Stormy to be enjoyed overlooking the bay. Dogs are also welcome to relax on the outside terrace.
