About
Nestled in the trees, Hummingbird is a truly unique Alpine-inspired retreat, where guests can unwind in the luscious groves that surround, the stunning sea views and blissful hot tub that awaits.
Sleeping four, this property is upside down in style, where the sea views can best be enjoyed from the top floor where you’ll find the open-plan living/kitchen/diner. A rather special spot with striking vaulted ceilings, luxury wooden flooring, and floor-to-ceiling glass bi-folding doors out to the glass-fronted balcony. The contemporary kitchen is well equipped with stylish black granite worktops and all the appliances you could need for your Cornish getaway, while the dining table comfortably seats four. Guests will also enjoy the huge wall-mounted smartTV and contemporary hanging wood burning stove, the perfect set up for cosy nights in.
For a restful night sleep, choose between one of the two well-appointed king size bedrooms. Both elegantly styled with lavish bedding and home comforts such as smart TVs and ensuites, one bedroom is situated on the first floor, while the other is on the ground floor with direct access to the hot tub. The first-floor bedroom benefits from a large balcony and ensuite wet room, while the bedroom on the ground floor boasts patio doors leading to the garden beyond and a large ensuite shower room.
Like the interior, the outdoor space at Hummingbird has been carefully considered. Wonderfully secluded by the surrounding trees, it could be mistaken for a Scandinavian woodland lodge, although guests are reminded of their Cornish location with view of the sparkling sea which lies ahead. There’s a spacious lawn at the front of the property, private parking to the side, and not forgetting the highlight… a rejuvenating bubbling hot tub.
You’re moments from the award-winning Carbis Bay beach, which can be conveniently reached from the bottom of the garden where you can join the path to take you down to the beach. You’re also only a mile from bustling St Ives, where you’re spoilt with superb restaurants and bars, beaches, galleries and more.

Activities
When holidaying in Carbis Bay look no further than Carbis Bay Beach. The proud recipient of a Blue Flag award, meaning it is a super-clean beach. Perfect for families with young children, the water is just right for swimming, and usually free of surfers/body boarders. If you prefer to sunbathe and relax, the spotlessly clean beach is around a mile long. With a beautifully clear sea, this fine beach is quiet; wonderful, too, for a sunset walk.
If a spa day is up your street, try the Carbis Bay Hotel’s C Bay Spa, which also has some fantastic eateries if you need to refuel for lunch, or perhaps looking for a romantic dinner out.
Situated two miles from St Ives along the coast path, it’s a wonderful stroll. Or you can hop on the St Ives Bay line at Carbis Bay for a short but pretty train ride. For beach lovers, there are plenty to choose from… Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Godrevy, Porthkidney Beach to name but a few. Families and couples will enjoy relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. St Ives Surf School offers sessions for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. All great fun! If you prefer to stay a little drier though, St Ives Boat Trips run sea-life safaris to see the local dolphins and seals!
One of St Ives most well-known attractions is the Tate St Ives, which is one of only four Tate galleries in the UK and is a haven for lovers of modern art. Artists praise St Ives for its beautiful light and it has inspired many pieces.
The cobbled streets of St Ives are home to many shops, galleries and cafes and most businesses are small independents or artisans. Check out Cornwall Soapbox for handmade soaps and aromatherapy products made in Cornwall!
When visiting St Ives, there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Porthminster Kitchen regularly receives great reviews and has a strong focus on fresh local food or head to Blas Burgerworks for a tasty handcrafted burger using ingredients sourced from the area.
St Ives sits at the bottom of the A30, so if you are looking to explore more of the Cornwall coast, then this is a great base and you can book ferries for day trips to the Scilly Isles from Penzance (only a 20 minute drive away).

We had a wonderful stay at The Hummingbird which was perfect, and had beautiful weather.

Highly recommend staying at Hummingbird, Carbis Bay.
The house is equipped with all you need. Lovely and clean. Beautiful and comfortable to stay in and stunning view that took my breath away every time. We wanted a special family holiday to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we certainly had the most perfect week. My children aged 8 And 6 loved playing on the spacious garden, visiting Carbis bay beach or catching the train to visit St Ives (both beach and station in a 6 minute walk).

Luxury service and accommodation.
Cornish secrets we're incredibly helpful through all my booking enquiries and even extra help on finding restaurants and places to visit. 10/10 for going over and above in service.

The week will stay with us as a lasting memory.
Back home we are still indulging into the memories we made last week in Carbis Bay at the wonderful and comfortable holiday home "Humming Bird"! We enjoyed ourselves so much in this lovely house with the two cosy bedrooms, the large luxurious hot tub and the living room and open plan kitchen with gorgeous views to the sea and the sunsrise. We even were so lucky to have bright sunny peaceful and calm days and full moon nights! Just perfect! The house was clean and everything we needed was provided and more (logs, coffee, tea, even scones, jam, fresh flowers and prosecco!). Thank you so much!

Thank you very much!

We had the most amazing few days at the house in Carbis Bay.
The weather was incredible and the beach so lovely and close to the house. I have to say out of all the rentals I have booked over the years in the UK, this was by far the cleanest house and the standards were excellent. We will definitely return to Carbis Bay and investigate your other properties.
