Beautiful Victorian townhouse
Hillside is a beautifully renovated and generously proportioned Victorian townhouse that comfortably sleeps 6 (8 using the sofa bed), located in the very heart of St.Ives.
Internally, the property boasts high ceilings, with a total of 3 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms, 3 of which are en-suite to 3 double bedrooms. As well as 2 living areas and a rare large decked garden with rear sun terrace, there is also a stunning balcony to the bedroom at the top of the property affording wonderful views to the harbour, the island and Porthmeor.  The house enjoys a superb central location and is just a few minutes’ walk from the popular Porthminster Beach and picturesque harbour. Hillside also enjoys its own private parking space in a secure, gated car park right across the road – a real luxury in St Ives!
Through the double entrance, a light and airy hallway welcomes you to your home for the week. Polished marble monochrome tiles set the scene, leading the eye all the way to the garden room which is a comfortable snug for evenings curled up on the sofa, or a hideout for children in front of the HDTV, whilst the adults enjoy time together elsewhere in the house or garden.
Next to the garden room is a family bathroom with stand-up glass-framed shower which is a perfect place to hose off after a day on the sand or in the sea.
Also on the ground floor are two beautiful double bedrooms. Â Bedroom One is a large double bedroom with a large bay window and ensuite shower room. Double bedroom Two offers a garden view with extended views over the St. Ives rooftops and is a serene place to slumber after a day on the beach.
Up the stairs and the balustrade will lead you to the main living area – the whole floor is an open plan kitchen, which resembles a loft-style apartment, with dining and living space that benefits from dual aspect windows which let the light flow in. Looking out to the garden you will see the famous St Ives rooftops, with views directly towards the artist Ben Nicholson’s studio at Trezion, the bustling harbour and island beyond.
There is plenty of room to cook for your family and friends in the open-plan kitchen which features state of the art Siemens, brand new electric hob, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The dining area seats 6-8 comfortably and after a home cooked meal (or local fish & chips), everyone can retire to the lounge area to spend some quality time together over a family movie on the flatscreen HDTV or a classic board game.
Back on the landing, a door opens to reveal one of Hillside’s best assets – a secret spiral staircase, which leads up to one of our favourite rooms. A cosy double bedroom tucked up in the eaves has the special features of a private balcony with glass frontage offering a very special St Ives view – a wonderful place to enjoy a morning coffee as the sun comes up, or glass of wine in the evening as it sets over the harbour. As with the other bedrooms, there is an en-suite bathroom with heated towel rail. A fantastic and private place to enjoy a candlelit bubble bath in peace!
Garden –Â The large enclosed garden, which is unusual for a central St Ives property, features two decked areas, nearest the house and then another at the end of the garden, allowing you to enjoy the long summer evenings in the privacy of your own space. There is ample room to enjoy a BBQ dinner, and settle in under the stars at the end of another perfect Cornish day.

Loved the views from the top bedroom, made use of the barbecue and fairy lights in the garden even though it was the end of October. The house was beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. Very handy for local shops, walks and beaches. Highly recommended!
Perfect location, central to St Ives centre and Porthminster beach, allowing easy access. This is a well thought out accommodation with enough space and rooms for a larger family / group to feel like they have their own space in the same house.
It has a bright airy feel inside and an amazing outdoor space. The facilities are high spec and and clean. This property also has secure parking - a luxury in St Ives. This was our second visit to Hillside, and hopefully not our last!
Hillside, was all we had hoped for
