Spacious Coastal Haven Minutes From The Beach

Located on a quiet residential road, Haven House’s location is ideal. Within easy walking distance (five minutes) of Bude town centre and the nearby beaches, it is perfect for eight people visiting this popular family-friendly seaside town with all amenities readily accessible. Why not go green, ditch the car for your stay and enjoy all that Bude has to offer on foot?

Light and bright, a tastefully decorated bay-fronted sitting room is positioned at the front of the house, but there’s an additional living space too, and each come with a Smart TV, excellent for an extended family who enjoy watching different things.

The hallway leads on to a dining room with a table seating eight. The large, well-equipped kitchen, with a gas cooker, and dishwasher, contains all you need to create marvellous meals to enjoy indoors or out. It also features a unique collection of ornamental teapots, which befits the accommodation. Space, light and contemporary furnishings, with comfort paramount, characterful touches and pops of colour complete the holiday home vibe.

A utility room with washer and dryer, and a downstairs washroom, lead on to a lovely light-filled conservatory (with TV and seating) which completes the downstairs section of this substantial family space. Here you have an eclectic property in the heart of Bude.

Four bright and airy bedrooms include a twin room, one king-sized with an ensuite shower room and views towards the cliffs, one double with an ensuite looking over the garden, and a bunk room. The recently-renovated family bathroom is a contemporary space with a large walk-in shower and double-ended bath tub. All the bedrooms have Smart TVs. WiFi is high grade, except for the conservatory area. It is also a 4G area.

In the long sunny enclosed, but not overlooked, back garden is a patio area with outdoor seating and a barbecue for dining al fresco, a well-maintained grassed area for children to play, and with a shed for bike or surfboard storage, plus a really useful a wetsuit wash down area after a day in the surf or on the sand.

Parking for one car is available in the drive, and free on road parking is also available. Bude Canal, town centre, beaches, coast path, children’s play area and pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

Bude sits on the North Cornwall and Devon border and offers a traditional beachside holiday for couples and families alike.

There are two sandy beaches located in the town itself, Summerleaze Beach and Crooklets Beach. Both have beach huts available for hire and overlooking Summerleaze Beach is the Bude Sea Pool, which is a free tidal swimming pool that is run and maintained by a team of volunteers (so donations are welcomed). Other beaches only a couple of miles away are Widemouth Bay, Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth Beach, all of which showcase dramatic scenery.

There are a variety of cafes and bars if you are looking to eat out, from The Barge (a floating cafe on Bude’s canal) to The Beach that serves fine dining and cocktails with fantastic views out to sea. A couple of miles outside of Bude at Northcott Mouth, The Rustic Tea Garden serves cream teas with generous amount of proper Cornish clotted cream.

If you are seeking an active holiday, then Bude has a number of surf, paddleboard and adventure activity schools to help you have fun, whilst staying safe. Bude’s beaches are favoured with surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders. There are surf hire huts too, for those who are just ‘trying it out’.

The Bude canal has fun for all the family with pedal boats and rowing boats for hire, followed by a spot of shopping on the canal side at The Wharf, where you will find many local artisan items for sale. Throughout summer, there is also the Bude Farmers Market held each Friday and you can also find a proper Cornish ice-cream here to cool down with.

Widemouth Bay sits just a couple of miles south of Bude and while it benefits from all the Bude has to offer, is a slightly quieter setting. It is a beachside village dotted with cafes and bars, plus everything you need for a great day at the beach. Surf hire and surf schools are available and there is a very chilled out feeling to this area.

Bude and Widemouth Bay are close to the A39, which makes it easy to explore the North Cornwall and Devon coastline. Only a short drive away are the historic villages of Tintagel and Boscastle, steeped in legends and folklore. Padstow is also only an hours drive from Bude, and is favoured among foodies with many talented chefs serving up fresh local food.

A very comfortable & spacious house in a great location.

Lots of small things, thought of by the host, made the stay perfect!
Grant , July 21

The garden and patio area was just perfect for our evenings sat out in the sunshine. Our granddaughter loved the figures dotted around the garden, magical. And to sit and listen to the sea crashing against the shore in the evenings was just perfect. Thank you so much for your recommendation, no doubt we will return again one day.

Idyllic family home, which suited our family extremely well.
Wendy, June 2022

We had a brilliant time at Haven House. We found the property easily accessible to the shops, beach and a lot of other amenities. The house itself was immaculate!

We would certainly visit and stay here again!
