A charming Cornish farmhouse

Dalgover house is special. This gorgeous three bedroom detached Cornish farmhouse is a real hidden gem privately tucked away and set within three and half acres of its own magical gardens. As you arrive along a farm track it’s hard not to be wowed when greeted by this stunning home overlooking the enormous gardens. It feels like a private oasis surrounded by idyllic Cornish countryside.

Having recently been completely refurbished and extended Dalgover House exudes effortless style and traditional charm making for the most wonderful base for either families or smaller parties wanting a complete escape. Although benefitting from its secluded location it’s also in a great spot for easily exploring this stunning area with the golden sands of both Porthtowan and Portreath beaches under ten minutes’ drive away.

Built around 1870, most likely as a count house for the local mines, the barn next door is believed to be even older with the site having been inhabited for more than three hundred years. Today the house boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms with three separate living rooms, a dining room and a kitchen. There’s plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the two wood burners keep it toasty and make it ideal for cosy winter breaks. The spacious kitchen and dining room is a great social space for gathering everyone together to plan the day’s activities. When it’s just too good to be inside light the barbeque and enjoy an alfresco summer evening in the beautiful gardens.

Offering home from home comfort, peace and privacy within a beautiful three-acre mature garden if you can drag yourself away it is perfectly located to further explore the local area. The north coast is a short drive away with a choice of local beaches, great for surfing and coastal walks with dog friendly options. The town of St Agnes is nearby to the east and Hayle to the west. Within half an hour you can be in St Ives, Marazion and Porthleven and then retreat back to the calm of Dalgover House after the day’s adventures.
