A trip to Padstow’s closest Blue Flag beach (approximately two miles) is always worthwhile. The main beach is more of a sandy inlet that’s deeper than it is wide and to either side there’s  plenty of rock pools to be explored.

Visitors can discover the Trevone tidal pool, which is said to be one of the largest in Cornwall known to the locals as ‘Tinker Bunny’s Bathing Pool.’

As Trevone Bay backs onto the small village of Trevone, you’ll find toilets, a shop and beach café nearby. Conveniently, there’s also two large car parks at either end of the beach, plus a handful of parking spaces next to the beach, although these are like gold dust during the summer.

Boasting gently sloping sand, Trevone Bay offers great swimming opportunities, but is also loved by surfers for its waves. RNLI lifeguards patrol this beach during the summer months, but it’s worth noting that there can be a strong rip current at times.

For dog owners be aware that there is a seasonal dog ban in place at Trevone Bay from 15t May to 30 September between 10am to 6pm.
