Parking – Bude

Date Posted: 24 Jun 2020

Beautiful Bude has plenty of parking around the town centre and beaches, including Cornwall Council car parking, Bude-Stratton Town Council parking and private parking. Outside high season, street parking is often available, too, but it is time-limited to 1-2 hours depending on location.

Cornwall Council has car parks at The Crescent (by the canal, with 190 spaces and electric car charging point), Summerleaze (beach), Crooklets (beach), The Wharf (canalside) and Widemouth (beach).

Prices range from £2.20 an hour to £10 per day. Weekly costs £25. There is extra parking on the grass at Crooklets in summer with a total of 320 spaces.

Summerleaze (a favourite surfing beach) has 450 spaces but there can still be queueing in summer. The Wharf is tucked (so often a good bet) away near the library with 64 spaces, while Widemouth Bay has 560 spaces. There are some free car parks in outlying villages, and the National Trust operates at Sandymouth and Northcott beaches.

Meanwhile, the Town Council operates the car park to the rear of the Parkhouse Centre (handy for the Castle Heritage Centre), and parking bays along Neetside by the river.

Burn View private car park by the Golf Club is easy to find (on a one-way street) and usually has spaces. It is very handy for going into town. The spaces are quite large, so useful if you have a large 4 x 4.
