Recently refurbished throughout, Tygwella is a perfect sized holiday home for a large family or group, who can take advantage of the five bedrooms and plenty of space throughout.
Spend time together on the outdoor decking area, whilst enjoying an afternoon BBQ or a dip in your jacuzzi hot tub, with it’s stunning views. You can feel reassured while children and dogs enjoy burning off unspent energy in the large garden, which is secured with fences and walls.
However, some days simply demand time at the beach, building sand castles or surfing the waves. So, when you make your way back to the house, you can clean up in style in one of the four luxury bathrooms, ready for your evening activities. Kick back in the sitting room to watch a film with everyone and enjoy great quality sound with your Sonos sound system.
This holiday home has a fully equipped kitchen that is perfect for cooking up a family meal that will satisfy all. With a large American style fridge freezer to keep your local produce in and a double oven, there really is everything you need to rustle up a feast. Sit and enjoy your culinary delights on the decking area and when the evening chill sets in, retreat to the warmth of indoors.
The master bedroom has stunning sea views, which you can take advantage of on your own private terrace. Enjoy a cup of tea in the morning, whilst reading the news and taking in the fresh Cornish air. What better way could there be to start your day?
Of an evening, take a long luxurious bath in your ensuite bathroom’s roll top bath before sinking into the sumptuous comfort of your kingsize bed.
Tygwella will refresh and rejuvenate you, with it’s sea air and open living in the countryside.
Tygwella is situated at Porthcothan Bay, in the area of Padstow and Rock. Porthcothan is a large sandy bay, ideal for surfing and with beautiful cliff scenery. In fact, Poldark has used this area as one of their filming locations. It also has it’s own shop and pub. Other nearby beaches are Bedruthan Steps, Treyarnon Bay or Constantine & Trevose.
The main town in the area is Padstow, which sits on the Camel Estuary, opposite its neighbouring village, Rock. Both are connected by a short ferry ride and each has its own unique identity.
A holiday in Padstow will be filled with fun and food! Every foodie in the UK knows Padstow is the place to come to experience the best fresh locally sourced ingredients and in particular, seafood! Celebrity chef, Rick Stein, has a number of businesses here including a cafe, a delicatessen, a bakery, a restaurant and his famous fish and chips. Rick isn’t the only move and shaker in town though and Padstow has many strings to its bow, including No.6 by Paul Ainsworth and the Cally Oyster Bar & Grill. There is a good mix of foods here too and a pasty from the Chough’s bakery is just as well advised, followed by a famous Roskilly’s ice cream.
Whilst the food at Padstow is definitely a highlight, it is not all that Padstow and Rock have to offer. Why not catch a Sealife Safari to see local seals, dolphins and if you are lucky, a basking shark. It’s a great way to experience the coast.
For those who enjoy jumping in feet first, there is always plenty of fun to be had with Ocean High, who offer lessons in stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and kite-surfing in Rock. Brea Beach at Rock has soft golden expanses of sand that are a perfect place to relax with the family and take a dip in the water. If you want to take it inland then why not cycle the Camel Trail which provides an easy route to cycle to Bodmin.
If you enjoy a heated pool to relax in, Rock’s luxury spa Cowshed might be more up your street. Cowshed is part of the St Moritz Spa and Hotel, where you can indulge in some serious pampering and relaxation. Perfect for getting ready before a night out at local restaurant, The Mariners, where you can take in the view of the twinkling Padstow lights across the water.
No holiday is complete without a spot of shopping and Padstow has plenty of galleries, clothes shops, gift shops and more. A particularly nice shop to visit is Whistlefish, which stocks pretty illustrations of Padstow and the surrounding area.
If you would like to explore further afield, then Padstow is positioned close enough to the A39 to make day trips to Bude, St Ives and the south coast easy to reach. There is so much to explore in this area, that you will never be bored!
