A country retreat for nature lovers
A haven for wildlife and nature lovers, The Woodcutters Cabin envelops its guests in a simple way of living for some time out of everyday life. With friendly visits from local shrews, rabbits, frogs, buzzards and owls, this retreat is something very special.
The cabin reflects its surroundings, built with the help of local craftspeople and lots of natural materials. The open plan living space inside has a bespoke interior, with beautiful earth tones from exposed wood and a neutral colour palette.
Enjoy a comforting afternoon preparing a hearty meal in the cabin’s hand built kitchen. Though this is a rural retreat, you still have all the mod cons that make cooking a pleasure, such as a dishwasher for after you have eaten.
Why eat inside when you are set in three acres of glorious gardens? The outdoor terrace has a bistro dining set to enjoy dining al fresco in the Cornish sunshine and fresh air. Or, if you are feeling more adventurous, why not bathe al fresco in the outdoor bathtub? It is the perfect place to listen to the wind rustling through the leaves or stargaze of an evening. Don’t worry though, there is a hot water tap..! If you prefer to clean up inside, step into the luxury walk-in shower room with underfloor heating and a heated towel rail.
Of an evening, snuggle up in the sitting room and stoke up the wood-burning fire for a romantic night cuddling and watching a film on Sky movies with a glass of wine before retiring for the evening for a blissful nights sleep in your king-size bed. With a driftwood frame and John Lewis mattress, you will feel the touch of luxury here.
After a stay at The Woodcutters Cottage, you won’t want to leave and will be booking your next stay as soon as you get home.
Facilities:
The Woodcutters Cabin is located in the Boskednan area of New Mill and is greatly situated to explore Cornwall. Penzance or Marazion are only ten minutes drive south or head north east to St Ives.
St Ives is located in western Cornwall. There is plenty to do in St Ives and it is a fantastic location if you plan on exploring a little further afield too.
One of St Ives most well known attractions is the Tate St Ives, which is one of only four Tate galleries in the UK and is a haven for lovers of modern art. Artists praise St Ives for its beautiful light and it has inspired many pieces.
The cobbled streets of St Ives are home to many shops, galleries and cafes and most businesses are small independents or artisans. Check out Cornwall Soapbox for handmade soaps and aromatherapy products made in Cornwall!
When visiting St Ives, there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Porthminster Kitchen regularly receives great reviews and has a strong focus on fresh local food or head to Blas Burgerworks for a tasty handcrafted burger using ingredients sourced from the area.
For beach lovers there are plenty to choose from… St Ives Harbour Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Porthkidney Beach or Carbis Bay to name but a few. Families and couples will enjoy relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. St Ives Surf School offers sessions for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. All great fun! If you prefer to stay a little drier though, St Ives Boat Trips run sea-life safaris to see the local dolphins and seals!
St Ives sits at the bottom of the A30, so if you are looking to explore more of the Cornwall coast, then this is a great base and you can book ferries for day trips to the Scilly Isles from Penzance (only a 20 minute drive away).
Please highlight required available date for weekly price.
Short breaks are offered at The Woodcutters Cabin from a minimum of 3 days (please contact the owner for short break enquiries).
Dogs are welcome outside of the months of July and August but please make sure that they are kept off the furniture and muddy paws are rubbed down before coming into the cabin. A small fee of £25 per dog is applicable per stay.
