Country retreat on the north coast
The Treehouse is nestled in the lush green Lanhern Valley, near the village of St Mawgan and offers a relaxing retreat for your Cornish holiday. This property has open plan living and a modern style, with the living quarters being on the top floor and the bedrooms on the ground floor.
The elevated position of the living area and the large landscape windows afford spectacular views out to St Mawgan. Sit back on the extra comfy sofas in the evenings to enjoy some down time with family and friends, make plans or watch a film.
In the morning, sit together at your breakfast bar to indulge in a slow paced breakfast rustled up in your fully equipped kitchen or take pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice outside to the decking area where you can wake up overlooking the landscaped gardens and read the morning papers.
The gardens are full of adventure for little children and big children alike. With plenty of trees for climbing and rope swings for monkeying around, there will be plenty of fun to be had. If you fancy a little stargazing, then light up the fire pit at the end of the garden, grab a blanket and a hot drink and make the most of the low levels of light pollution that this property enjoys.
When you are ready to turn in for the night, you will find your bed comfortable and inviting. The master bedroom will see you rested in style with fitted wardrobes, en-suite and doors leading out to the outdoor decking area.
After a holiday at The Treehouse, you will return home refreshed and reinvigorated.
Facilities:
The cute little village of St Mawgan lies in the Lanherne Valley with the River Menalhyl running through it. It is located near the area of Newquay and Watergate Bay, which are on the north coast of Cornwall.
Famous for its fantastic surf, this spot attracts surfers from all over the world and is perhaps best known for Fistral Beach, where many UK competitions are held. There are lots of beaches in the area though and Watergate Bay is just next door to Newquay. Again, a wonderful surfing beach but also famed for its fantastic cafes and restaurants. A great choice if you feel like getting dressed up for a special night out is Zachry’s, a beautiful restaurant bistro diner overlooking the bay, where dinner is served with some spectacular sunsets. Or relax watching the waves over a cocktail at Watchful Mary’s.
Beaches are not all the area has to offer though and if you are in search of a non-sandy family day out then pay a visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay where you can take a walk under the underwater tunnel, explore their aquariums and learn about marine conservation.
Take a visit to the popular Mawgan Porth with its wide sandy beach, excellent surf school and a cool collection of restaurants, cafes and pubs.
A half hour drive outside is Cornwall’s most famous pub, The Jamaica Inn. Sitting high on Bodmin Moor, this inn was made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s novel by the same name, which tells the tale of the smuggling life in years now gone by. On cold winter nights, warm up by the roaring open fire with a drink and soak up the atmosphere of this historic building.
A short drive away is an well known attraction that everyone will find fascinating, The Eden Project. The project seeks to find answers to how we can live better with the planet. Step into their biomes to discover jungles, waterfalls, Mediterranean gardens and more. Outside their biomes, the external gardens are just as impressive and is dog friendly. It is just the biomes that they can’t go into.
Newquay is also ideally positioned to explore the whole of the Cornish coast, using the A39 and A30. Padstow is a particular favourite and a great place to catch a boat trip out to sea, with one of the town’s Sealife Safaris and St Ives is also a popular town to visit, with it’s pretty back streets and independent stores and galleries. There are lots more attractions too, including a host of National Trust properties and even vineyards if you are looking to add to your collection. We are sure you will enjoy your stay in this area.
