Luxury coastal holiday home perched above Porth Beach
Perched on the hillside above Porth beach, the aptly-named The Lookout is a stunning new building which takes advantage of its enviable location and views. Championing its location, the home has been sympathetically styled with a beachside vibe. With a keen eye for interior design, the owner has carefully chosen a coastal-inspired colour palette, heightened by bespoke murals, original artwork, and limited edition prints by iconic photographer Slim Aaron. Creating a sense of wellbeing, The Lookout is Cornwall’s very own Malibu beach house.
Featuring reverse level accommodation, The Lookout is a large holiday home sleeping up to eight people. To best celebrate its stunning outlook, the large open-plan living area on the first floor is entirely beach facing. A truly breath-taking space, this room is maximised by the 8.5m floor-to-ceiling bifold doors, which allows the natural Cornish light to flood through.
The contemporary kitchen, complete with large island, is a chef’s dream, boasting an integrated in fridge freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, oven and a five-burner gas hob. Enjoy large family meals around the industrial-styled bespoke concrete table, which comfortable seats eight.
The sophisticated lounge boasts two leather armchairs, a sumptuous L-shaped sofa and a modern wood-burning stove. There’s also a large wall-mounted Sky Glass Smart TV and a Bose sound system for guests to enjoy. On this floor guests also benefit from a separate snug complete with Smart TV and Xbox, a utility space and a WC.
On the ground floor there are four stunning bedrooms showcasing designer fabrics and luxury touches throughout. Two bedrooms are situated at the rear of the house affording sea views with French doors out to the patio terrace, they also boast lavish king size beds and contemporary ensuites. The two further bedrooms have zip ‘n’ link beds which can be set up as a twin or super king. The family bathroom is also on this level, featuring designer tiles and high-end fittings, there’s a bath and freestanding shower.
The Lookout’s outside space is equally impressive. The large patio terrace has plenty of outdoor seating and a charcoal bbq to allow guests to dine al fresco. The spoiling views of Porth beach are truly mesmerizing as you edge closer to the bay. There’s also an additional peaceful spot at the bottom of the sloping coastal gardens for adults to unwind.

Outside areas
While Porth beach is only a five-minute stroll away, here are some suggestions for local days out.
TREVALGUE HEAD (PORTH ISLAND)
Opposite the private road leading to the house lies Trevalgue Head, also known as Porth Island. On this stunning headland sits the site of an Iron Age Fort with defensive ramparts and two round barrows dating from the early Bronze Age. The South West Coast Path leads to the footbridge over a steep rock gully to access the site, which makes for a hair raising experience.
WHIPSIDERRY BEACH
Whilst Porth beach is an easy accessible beach, if you fancy experiencing a hidden gem and are feeling energetic. Whipsiderry beach was voted in the top 20 of Europe’s best beaches in the Sunday Times. Within 100 metres of the house, surrounded by cliffs, revealing rock pools and caves at low tide, this is the secret beach loved by the locals, with dogs allowed all year. At low tide the sands stretch around half a mile to Watergate Bay. Access is via steep sets clinging to the cliff face, but is worth the effort to discover Zacry’s islands, Fruitful Cove and Cathedral Cavern.
WATERSPORTS
For adrenaline junkies wanting to try Coasteering or slightly more sedate stand up Paddle Boarding and Kyaking, Newquay Activity Centre offers lessons and experiences.
LUSTY GLAZE ADVENTURE CENTRE
Just around the left side headland, Lusty Glaze Activity Centre offers the thrill of Terror Tightrope Walking across cliffs, Surf lessons, Banana Boat rides, Jet Ski lessons, High Speed and Coastal boat trips. Just choose your level of thrill!
