Padstow sits on the Camel Estuary, opposite its neighbouring village, Rock.  Both are connected by a short ferry ride and each has its own unique identity.

A holiday in Padstow will be filled with fun and food!  Every foodie in the UK knows Padstow is the place to come to experience the best fresh locally sourced ingredients and in particular, seafood!  Celebrity chef, Rick Stein, has a number of businesses here including a cafe, a delicatessen, a bakery, a restaurant and his famous fish and chips.  Rick isn’t the only move and shaker in town though and Padstow has many strings to its bow, including No.6 by Paul Ainsworth and the Cally Oyster Bar & Grill.  There is a good mix of foods here too and a pasty from the Chough’s bakery is just as well advised, followed by a famous Roskilly’s ice cream.

Whilst the food at Padstow is definitely a highlight, it is not all that Padstow and Rock have to offer.  Why not catch a Sealife Safari to see local seals, dolphins and if you are lucky, a basking shark. It’s a great way to experience the coast.

Padstow itself is more known for its harbour than beaches. However, being on the wild north coast, beautiful  sandy spots are not very far away at all. Daymer Bay, Harlyn Bay and Constantine Bay are all in easy reach, plus lesser known Mother Ivey’s Bay and Booby’s Bay are certainly worth a visit. And around five miles of south of PadstowPorthcothan Bay is a large sandy beach which is popular with families and surfers alike.

For those who enjoy jumping in feet first, there is always plenty of fun to be had with Ocean High, who offer lessons in stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and kite-surfing in Rock.  Brea Beach at Rock has soft golden expanses of sand that are a perfect place to relax with the family and take a dip in the water. If you want to take it inland then why not cycle the Camel Trail which provides an easy route to cycle to Bodmin.

If you enjoy a heated pool to relax in, Rock’s luxury spa Cowshed might be more up your street.  Cowshed is part of the St Moritz Spa and Hotel, where you can indulge in some serious pampering and relaxation. Perfect for getting ready before a night out at local restaurant, The Mariners, where you can take in the view of the twinkling Padstow lights across the water.

No holiday is complete without a spot of shopping and Padstow has plenty of galleries, clothes shops, gift shops and more.  A particularly nice shop to visit is Whistlefish, which stocks pretty illustrations of Padstow and the surrounding area.

If you would like to explore further afield, then Padstow is positioned close enough to the A39 to make day trips to Bude, St Ives and the south coast easy to reach. There is so much to explore in this area, that you will never be bored!

My family and I (5 of us) recently stayed at the Grain Store in Padstow organised through Cornish Secrets. From arranging the holiday, arrival, stay and departure the process was very smooth and easy. The accommodation was fantastic and quality of our amenities were to a very high standard. Beautifully fitted and decorated - very modern and all accessible. It was a very busy time being a popular UK tourist town and seeing as travelling abroad had been a lot tougher this year, but still the holiday was amazing and that was truly helped along by what felt like a very luxurious experience with using Cornish Secrets and fab accommodation, The Grain Store! Thanks - would definitely use again and recommend highly!

Would definitely use again and recommend highly!

Obviously this is a fairly high end offering in terms of price and having looked at the photos and the location our expectations were high. Honestly we were not disappointed, in fact I’m pleased to say it exceeded our expectations. The apartment was simply fab—even better in reality than it looks in the photos! The location is hard to beat (unless you are looking for a tranquil backwater—in which you probably wouldn’t choose Padstow town). The harbour/centre is literally on the doorstep and the nearby easy private parking space is an extra bit of magic. It’s Padstow epicentre, so expect activity and bustle, but being arranged over the upper floors and with the apartment being so thoughtfully done, you have the best of both worlds. Whether watching the sun come up from the comfort of the master bedroom and enjoying a panoramic view of the harbour gradually coming to life at 6am, or in the lounge of an evening with bi-folds open, glass of wine in hand, watching the world go by below from the elevated position, we found the whole place thoroughly enjoyable. Cornish Secrets were amazing, dealing with everything very efficiently, and by chance we had the pleasure of bumping into the owner and her family one day, who were lovely. We couldn’t really find anything to complain about, very well equipped and stylishly furnished, everything excellent quality. The only down side is that we didn’t want to go home. The solution? We have booked again for next year!

It exceeded our expectations!

We were lucky enough to be able to stay right in the centre at The Grain Store. It was perfect. The location was just right for us as a family. It enabled us to open the door and head straight into the beauty that is Padstow. I can’t recommend it enough.

I can’t recommend it enough!

We had the most fabulous family stay at the Grain Store in Padstow. The accommodation was perfect and very clean. The town is very quirky with beautiful walks, bakeries, art galleries , independent shops , cafes and gorgeous water views across. After almost 2 years of hardship for everybody this little getaway was truly worth it and idyllic. The house is perfect for a family with modern equipment and natural light through out the property. We will book again for our next visit. Thankyou. The Nandi’s

The location was key with Padstow and harbour views at your doorstep

Wonderful stay, as last year. I can think of nothing that could improve our stay. We looking forward to our next visit!

The location can’t be beaten.
Bernice - Sept 22

The Grain store is beautiful and tastefully decorated - modern and well equipped. Everything was brand new and amazing high quality. 3 great double bedrooms and a huge living / dining / kitchen area with beautiful views across Padstow harbour. The location right above the delicious Cherry Trees and minutes (if not seconds) from all the great Padstow restaurants meant we didn’t need to use the kitchen facilities (which had everything nonetheless) We had a brilliant stay and would definitely return The benefit of having a parking space fairly closeby was also a great plus point

The property is stunning - amazing location and has everything you could ask for.
Priya - Oct 22

The house was immaculately laid out and very welcoming, right down to the useful instruction booklets and basket of snacks in the kitchen.

It is panoramically the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in, and certainly by far the best in Padstow.

Beautiful place, Beautiful scenery.Typical Cornish weather tho but waking with the view of the harbour made up for it. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The kitchen in the rental was well equipped for cooking at home if you wish.

Superb stay
