Glamping pod
A unique glamping pod set in a wildflower meadow with beautiful views of the Cornish countryside from its private terrace. Steren provides an off-grid experience. Your bathtub is heated from a wood burning stove, the water is provided by our onsite spring and the pod is lit by candle light and fairy light and a second wood burner keeps your bedroom toasty warm on colder evenings. The pod boasts a super king-size bed with pocket sprung mattress, goose down duvet and crisp white sheets, an en suite bathroom with flushing toilet, rocking chairs, an interior and exterior dining table and a fully kitted mini kitchen with gas burning hob.
Steren means star in Cornish and you can star gaze in comfort from the super king-size bed or bathtub which both have their own star gazing windows set above them. Toiletries are provided from the local St Kitts Herbery, as are fluffy white towels.
There is no electricity in the pod but in the main barn you will find places to charge electrical items, fridge and freezer space, our honesty shop and a hair dryer!
Complementary cheese, biscuits, chutney, tea, freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate, fresh milk and cookies are provided.
Facilities:
Staying in Launceston gives you plenty of options for fun activities to make your holiday a memorable one!
If it is history you crave, Launceston castle should be on your itinerary and is a great setting for children to imagine themselves playing knights upon their imaginary steeds. Of course Launceston is also known for its steam railway, great for little and big kids alike. This steam train chugs through the countryside giving you a real flavour of Cornwall, ending at Newmills.
Launceston is only a short drive away from the beaches of North Cornwall. Trebarwith Strand, Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven are all within easy reach and have beautiful soft golden sands for your little ones to build their sandcastles and decorate them with shells. If you visit Crackington Haven, make sure to grab a bite to eat at The Coombe Barton pub, whose food is excellent!
Also on the north coast are Boscastle and Tintagel, two villages steeped in folklore and legends. Discover King Arthur and Merlin at Tintagel Castle, then pop over to Boscastle to visit The Museum of Witchcraft before taking a stroll on the south-west coast path? Also a great stop at Boscastle is The Boscastle Farmshop with great views, cafe and local produce.
A drive south of Launceston will bring you to the Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is famed for its mining heritage and received world heritage status. There are many walks, trails for mountain biking and horseback riding too!
Launceston has many great cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. The White Horse Inn serves excellent food and is very friendly. It is known for having the best Sunday roast in town. If you fancy a light lunch with great views, pay a visit to The Cowslip Tearooms.
With so much to do Launceston is a great place to get to know Cornwall from and spend some quality time together.
