About

Daymer Bay lies on the sheltered Camel Estuary between Rock and Polzeath on the dramatic north Cornish stretch. Backed by dunes and Brea Hill, it faces the broad, calm waters of the estuary rather than the Atlantic, giving safe, gently shelving sand, expansive low-tide walks, and sweeping views towards Doom Bar and Stepper Point.

St Enodoc View stands just a three-minute stroll from the golden sands of Daymer Bay – a charming holiday home sleeping 11. This semi-detached property has space for all the family, plus furry friends too.

Press pause and unwind at this peaceful retreat. Arranged over three floors, the ground floor follows a traditional layout: a country-style kitchen/diner complete with AGA, sizeable wooden table, large bay window and plush window seat. In the cosy lounge you’ll find a wood burner, large smart TV, a generous selection of family board games, and direct access to the patio. There’s also a handy sunroom, utility space and a downstairs wet room.

On the first floor sit four of the five well-presented bedrooms. At the front of the house, facing west, are two generously sized bedrooms – one a lavish ensuite – both boasting stunning views across the Camel Estuary and veranda access via French doors. Each has a zip-and-link bed, which can be arranged as two singles or a luxurious super king. There’s also a kids’ room with a triple bunk, and a further double room with its own ensuite, garden views and a unique stained-glass window. The charming family bathroom, with large bath and shower over, is also on this floor.

The top floor is home to a delightful Hamptons-style bedroom with a double bed, small wall-mounted smart TV, and an ensuite with large bath and shower attachment. The real showstopper is the far-reaching sea view, best enjoyed from the private balcony.

Outside is equally appealing. The large, two-tiered garden offers fantastic space for garden games. Grill enthusiasts will love the Big Green Egg BBQ and dedicated cooking area on the spacious wrap-around patio. Cornish stone walling and lush planting create a wonderfully tranquil setting, with picnic-style benches, wooden chairs and sun loungers ready for lazy afternoons under the Cornish sun.

If you’re looking to mix work with pleasure on your Cornish holiday, then the separate garden room is a fabulous space. There’s a dedicated desk setup provides a comfortable space for catching up on emails or planning days out, while the cosy sofa invites you to switch off with a book once you’re done. The addition of a handy kitchenette means you can make a fresh coffee, or simple snack without needing to head back to the main house.

Practical touches are well covered here too, with a large, gated driveway for up to four cars, an EV charger, a heated outdoor shower and plenty of drying space for wetsuits and boards.

Activities

Just a three-minute walk from St Enedoc View, Daymer Bay is a splendid beach which offers a long stretch of golden sand at low tide, backed by suntrap dunes and scenic views across the Camel Estuary. As it is slightly off the beaten track, it has a more secluded feel to it than many local beaches. There’s no lifeguard service, but you’ll find a shop and cafe which serves ice creams, snacks and coffees and there are public toilets.

For food locally, you’re a five minute walk from The Mowhay which is a vibrant arts café and restaurant sits in central Trebetherick. It’s well rated for its creative menu and friendly atmosphere. Dogs are welcome during the daytime but not during evening service. In Trebetherick there’s also Flo’s Kitchen: a deli, general store and bakery. You’re also moments from St Moritz Hotel Cowshed Spa, why not try some down time with a relaxing spa day? It’s sheer bliss.

You’re also just a mile from Cornish favourite Polzeath, with it’s large expanse of golden sand and fabulous surf conditions. Or head to iconic Rock, also one mile away, it offers a brilliant blend of natural beauty, outdoor activities and stylish dining, making it a stand-out destination for families and friends alike. A playground for watersports enthusiasts, calm waters make it ideal for stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, waterskiing, and wakeboarding, with local operators like Camel Ski School and Rock Watersports offering expert tuition and equipment hire. The sheltered bay is also a lovely spot for wild swimming and beachcombing, while Rock Beach, with its golden sands and dog-friendly access, is perfect for families. Plus the revered St Enodoc Golf Club, a world-class links course nestled between dunes, with views of the sea and estuary.

For those who enjoy walking or cycling, the nearby Camel Trail runs along the old railway line from Wadebridge to Padstow, offering scenic estuary views.

Food lovers are spoilt for choice. The Mariners, by Paul Ainsworth, overlooks the water and delivers elevated pub classics with an emphasis on local produce. For fine dining, The Dining Room offers a refined intimate menu. Fee’s Food is a beloved deli offering fresh local ingredients and ready-made meals (and they deliver to holiday cottages), while Four Boys is a stylish café by the ferry slipway, ideal for lunch with a view. For something more exotic, head to The Tiny Thai in nearby Wadebridge.

A short ferry ride across the estuary brings you to Padstow, famed for its harbour charm and restaurants, expanding your options even further.
