Sophisticated spacious apartment with beautiful sea views

Samphire is a beautiful ocean-facing 2 bedroom, 2-bathroom luxury apartment, which forms part of the prestigious “Salt” development in St Ives. Now available for the first time as a holiday home providing sophisticated and contemporary accommodation for up to 4 guests.

Furnished to a very high standard throughout, Samphire features Scandinavian interior design accents as well as stunning original artworks from the St Ives School, part of the owners’ private collection. The apartment also features solid oak flooring with zoned under floor heating throughout, providing very high levels of comfort and energy efficiency throughout the year.

Dimmable spotlights throughout the apartment supplemented by mood lighting placed thoughtfully in the living, dining and bedroom areas ensure that lighting complement Samphire’s light and spacious feel.

The views from the living room are superb, with excellent elevated views of the Celtic Sea directly beyond, towards Godrevy lighthouse, Gwithian and Hayle all visible from the front windows.

The main living area also leads to another outside area, a large glass-fronted balcony, which includes seating for 4, which provides an alternative and very practical space for reading or enjoying al fresco drinks and dining.

The living room also features a HD TV and surround sound system, as well as other state of the art touches such as an Apple Home Pod. The designer media units also contain board games to keep guests amused if they yearn for more traditional family entertainment.

Salt, a gated development provides secure and dedicated parking and Samphire has its own covered allocated parking space, which will accommodate a large vehicle such as a 4×4. Additional cars can be parked in the guest spaces at the front of the development. This flexibility means that guests can access all that this part of Cornwall has to offer, or explore further afield as well as get to and from the apartment easily by car.

Upon arrival at Salt, a communal main doorway on the ground floor leads to an entrance lobby where a central staircase or lift provides access to the 1st floor. Opening the apartment door leads to a main hallway, which leads into a well designed and fully stocked kitchen space, featuring appliances by Siemens including a dishwasher, fan oven and halogen hob. Designer touches include kettle and toaster by Dualit, an authentic Italian espresso/cappuccino machine, as well as kitchen accessories by Joseph Joseph.

The dining area features a large designer oak table seating 6, perfect for a leisurely breakfast and, of course, for a communal supper at the end of another perfect day in St Ives.

The bedrooms at Samphire are also design statements in their own right. The master bedroom, accessed off another hallway, is spacious and calm in its appearance, featuring white and grey tones throughout with a very comfortable king size bed as well as ample clothes storage. The en suite bathroom features fittings by Villeroy and Boch. The master bedroom, which features full blackout curtains, is also beautifully framed by large double-fronted glass doors, leading to a spacious private sun terrace, which can also be accessed via the dining area. The terrace features a table, chairs and parasol and provides a superb space for evening dining al fresco, complemented by subtle uplighters built into the engineered floor.

The second bedroom can be either a king sized bed or 2 singles with Hypnos mattresses it is located near to the apartment entrance and facing the rear of the development, is similar in style, with calming neutral tones, original artwork and plenty of storage as well as blackout blinds to help guests get a great night’s sleep. This bedroom has use of the second bathroom, which includes a bath/shower by Villeroy and Boch.

Guests staying at Samphire also have the benefit of use of the development’s communal areas, including a dedicated, lockable covered surf storage area for windbreaks, wetsuits and boards, which can be washed down beforehand via the adjacent shower. There is also external lift access from the car park for guests that may require more assistance getting to and from the communal lobby.

Family swimming and body boarding beaches

Porthmeor – this is the largest beach in St Ives and is a favourite for families and surfers thanks to the soft golden sands and Atlantic swells. Lifeguards are present during peak season; dogs are not permitted between Easter & October.

Porthminster – family friendly beach and can be reached by a small walk from St Ives Town. Lifeguards are present during the summer months and dogs are not permitted between Easter & October.

Godrevy –  located at the northern end of Hayle’s three-mile beach, Godrevy receives the full Atlantic swell resulting in good surf conditions. Lifeguards are present during the summer months and dogs are not allowed on the beach during peak months.

Carbis Bay – located on the outskirts of St Ives, Carbis Bay Beach can easily be mistaken for an idyllic Caribbean spot because of its white sands and beautiful turquoise calm waters. Lifeguards are not present on this beach and dogs are not permitted between Easter & October.

Sennen – located 2 miles from Lands End, Sennen Cove is a great surfing spot and stretches over a mile long. Lifeguards patrol during peak season and dog are not permitted between Easter & October.

Porthcurno – stunning soft white sands and clear blue green ocean waters this is a hit with all families.  Located at the bottom of the famous Minack Theatre this beach is sheltered and perfect for paddling. Lifeguards are present during summer months and dogs are not permitted between Easter & October.

Booking fee:  There is a non-refundable booking fee of £28 per booking

Damage deposit:  A refundable damage deposit of £200 is payable.  This will be held until the end of the occupancy and will be returned to the guest within 2 weeks of departure, subject to deductions for any damage to property caused during the occupancy.
