Charming characterful stone cottage located in the Cornish village of Lelant

If you already adore or fancy trying St Ives, don’t miss this beautifully-named Rosemundy Cottage located in the heart of the lovely village of Lelant, only minutes from dog-friendly Porthkidney Beach, and around 3.5 miles from the centre of St Ives via the South West Coast Path. Blow away those cobwebs, high above St Ives Bay, with a walk there and a train back.

This compact, characterful stone cottage dates from the 1840s. Perfect for a couple, or a small family, this attractive listed building is a two-bedroomed semi-detached property, right on the mouth of the Hayle Estuary, tucked away between Hayle (with its beautiful beaches) and vibrant St Ives.

With off-road parking for two cars, and Wi-Fi, the cottage is yet only 5 minutes from the A30.

The master bedroom is tranquil with lovely views to the garden, plus a cute window seat where you can read and relax. Black out blinds help to keep out the light in both bedrooms. There is also a twin room with a large cupboard/wardrobe. Downstairs, the lounge/dining area has comfy leather settees to relax on after a day at the beach, plus a compact galley kitchen for simple family meals. The bathroom contains a bath with attached shower.

Outside is a sheltered and secluded garden, which is a sun trap during the day and contains a table for al fresco eating.

Lelant, with its clutch of restaurants and bistros, is famously the birthplace of the author, Rosamunde Pilcher, famous for novels like ‘The Shell Seekers’. Nearby Lelant Saltings is a popular spot for nature, especially birdwatching, and has an 11-minute train service making picturesque Carbis Bay and St Ives highly accessible without using your car.
