About

Number 5 is a beautifully remodelled, high-end seafront apartment sleeping four, combining sleek styling with some of the most dramatic coastal views you’ll find. Set in Carbis Bay, it’s perfectly placed for effortless beach days and easy exploring: the Blue Flag sands are just a few minutes’ walk away, and the local station is around three minutes on foot for a quick, scenic hop into St Ives and onward mainline connections. Add the nearby South West Coast Path and you have an unbeatable base for a Cornish escape.

Reimagined by an architect and interior designer, the apartment feels calm, contemporary and meticulously finished. The palette has been chosen to complement the famous St Ives light, while the refurbishment delivers true luxury: underfloor heating throughout, beautifully designed wet rooms, and ultra-soft Harrison Spinks “breathe-easy” cashmere mattresses for an exceptional night’s sleep.

At over 1,000 sq ft, the layout is wonderfully spacious. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is the sociable heart of the home, framed by panoramic picture windows that make the ever-changing sea and sky part of the experience. There’s ample room to gather around the dining table (seating up to six), while the fully equipped kitchen makes eating in a pleasure, complete with a built-in wine cooler and everything you need for relaxed entertaining. A deep bay window seat is the perfect spot for morning coffee, reading, or sunset drinks.

Both bedrooms are designed for comfort and flexibility. The king-size master suite comes with a luxurious en-suite featuring a contemporary freestanding bath, while the second bedroom can be configured as a super-king or twins – ideal for two couples or a small family.

Smart features elevate the stay even further. Expect Smart TVs, high-speed fibre broadband, wireless smart LED lighting, zoned underfloor heating and multi-room Bluetooth audio. Whether you’re out on the coast or enjoying a cosy evening in, Number 5 delivers a truly polished, modern luxury escape.

Activities

St Ives is located in West Cornwall. There is plenty to do in St Ives and it is a fantastic location if you plan on exploring a little further afield too.

For beach lovers, there are plenty to choose from… Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Godrevy, Porthkidney Beach or Carbis Bay to name but a few. Families and couples will enjoy relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. St Ives Surf School offers sessions for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. All great fun! If you prefer to stay a little drier though, St Ives Boat Trips run sea-life safaris to see the local dolphins and seals!

One of St Ives most well-known attractions is the Tate St Ives, which is one of only four Tate galleries in the UK and is a haven for lovers of modern art. Artists praise St Ives for its beautiful light and it has inspired many pieces.

The cobbled streets of St Ives are home to many shops, galleries and cafes and most businesses are small independents or artisans. Check out Cornwall Soapbox for handmade soaps and aromatherapy products made in Cornwall!

When visiting St Ives, there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Porthminster Kitchen regularly receives great reviews and has a strong focus on fresh local food or head to Blas Burgerworks for a tasty handcrafted burger using ingredients sourced from the area.

St Ives sits at the bottom of the A30, so if you are looking to explore more of the Cornwall coast, then this is a great base and you can book ferries for day trips to the Scilly Isles from Penzance (only a 20 minute drive away).

Our editor’s blog on St Ives shares her favourite ways to spend your time in the jewel in Cornwall’s crown. Read more, here.

A truly unforgettable experience for us

We had the most amazing stay at this Carbis Bay Apartment. The amenities of the home are just perfect with a beautiful kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms that make you want to stay forever. On top of that the place has the most amazing views and is a stone throw from a jaw dropping white sand beach with crystal clear water.
