You’ll also find the family bathroom on this floor which features a large freestanding rainforest shower.

Through to the open-plan living space, you won’t be short of places to relax and embrace the slower Cornish pace of life. In the cosy living area, with views out of the large box bay windows to the luscious gardens, there are three sumptuous sofas and a wall-mounted SmartTV. If you’re looking for a cosy night in why not turn on the flame-effect fire? Due to the open-plan nature you’re also find the dining area here, with a large table comfortably seating six, there’s also a working wood burning stove, too.

Through to the large country-style kitchen, which benefits from the natural light flooding in, it’s a well-equipped space for all your cooking needs. Kitted out with everything a budding chef can need including an American-style Kenwood fridge/freezer, a Belling range double electric oven, a microwave and an integrated dishwasher and washer/dryer. And coffee lovers can appreciate a morning caffeine hit as a coffee machine is provided. The kitchen area also boasts a breakfast bar and four stools.

The light-filled master bedroom is situated on the first floor, complete with a king-size Victorian style bedstead, charming sloping ceilings and an en-suite Jack and Jill bathroom. While Treknow, which in Cornish means “The valley place”, may be a small hamlet, it’s situated just five miles from the Atlantic Highway (A39), so you’re well placed to explore North Cornwall and beyond.

The closest area of interest has to be neighbouring Trebarwith Strand, approached via a long, steep-sided valley. It’s a short meander via a public footpath which is accessed directly from Treknow, and avoids the hassle of parking (there is two car parks at Trebarwith Strand). Pretty Trebarwith has a must-visit beach which is popular, partly because the tide comes right in and covers the sand leaving plenty of large flattish rocks to walk on in a unique landscape. Just off the beach, perched in the bay, is Gull Rock, home to many local sea birds, a part of the seascape.

Complete with two wonderful pubs; Port William and The Mill House, and a The Strand Café at Trebarwith, you’re taken care of when hunger strikes, or you need to refuel.

Tintagel is also within walking distance – depending on how strenuous you’re feeling – from Treknow. By car it’ll take less than five minutes, or take the scenic route and walk along the coast path, which is a three mile route. Tintagel is a place full of myth and legend dominated by King Arthur, and the story is that he was conceived and born in this magical Cornish town. Tintagel Castle, where history meets legend, is a pretty spectacular location to visit while here.

Nearby you also have Bossiney Cove, an idyllic beach accessed via steep steps, it’s a secluded space with golden sand and crystal clear azure sea when the sun is shining and is less than two miles away.

If surfing is on the cards then you’re equidistance from popular Polzeath beach or bustling Bude with a number of surf-ready beaches to enjoy, just a half an hour drive away.

Thank you so much. It was one of the best equipped and cosy homes we have stayed in. A privilege to be able to spend the week there. So much to do locally that we didn't need to stray far from the cottage. The kids loved it and was perfect for our family. Also the best shower we've experienced

An amazing stay in a fabulous home and location.
