Woodburner / Open Fire
Kensa is a beautiful bell tent set in a wildflower meadow. A hotel worthy luxurious super king-size bed, with pocket sprung mattress, goose down duvet and crisp white sheets provided ensures this is definitely glamping not camping!
The tent also has a sofa that can be split into two singles, allowing up to 4 people to stay. Kensa has a little wood burner to keep you cosy on colder nights or to heat up water for mugs of hot chocolate. Kensa also has its own terrace and a private BBQ area and is surrounded by wildflowers with beautiful views of Cornish countryside and Bodmin Moor. The tent is lit by a mixture of solar lights, fairy lights and candles.
Just down the path, in the main barn there is also a fully functioning kitchen, equipped with all the crockery and cutlery you should need if the family doesn’t fancy a BBQ or if it’s a rainy day. There you will also find the toilets, a piping hot shower, electricity to charge any items, an all-weather dining area and our honesty shop.
Complimentary fluffy white towels, cookies, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are also provided.
Staying in Launceston gives you plenty of options for fun activities to make your holiday a memorable one!
If it is history you crave, Launceston castle should be on your itinerary and is a great setting for children to imagine themselves playing knights upon their imaginary steeds. Of course Launceston is also known for its steam railway, great for little and big kids alike. This steam train chugs through the countryside giving you a real flavour of Cornwall, ending at Newmills.
Launceston is only a short drive away from the beaches of North Cornwall. Trebarwith Strand, Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven are all within easy reach and have beautiful soft golden sands for your little ones to build their sandcastles and decorate them with shells. If you visit Crackington Haven, make sure to grab a bite to eat at The Coombe Barton pub, whose food is excellent!
Also on the north coast are Bostcastle and Tintagel, two villages steeped in folklore and legends. Discover King Arthur and Merlin at Tintagel Castle, then pop over to Boscastle to visit The Museum of Witchcraft before taking a stroll on the south-west coast path? Also a great stop at Boscastle is The Boscastle Farmshop with great views, cafe and local produce.
A drive south of Launceston will bring you to the Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is famed for its mining heritage and received world heritage status. There are many walks, trails for mountain biking and horseback riding too!
Launceston has many great cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. The White Horse Inn serves excellent food and is very friendly. It is known for having the best Sunday roast in town. If you fancy a light lunch with great views, pay a visit to The Cowslip Tearooms.
With so much to do Launceston is a great place to get to know Cornwall from and spend some quality time together.
Kensa is available for a minimum of three nights.
