Jassamine Cottage is wonderfully located to enjoy numerous walks through woodland, moorland and open fields down to the sea.
For a simple stroll, the woodland and fields just below the cottage can be accessed on footpaths just 300m from the cottage. The fields across from the cottage are a mass of agapanthas in summer and are simply stunning in their blue and white splendour. A simple walk through the woods to Ludgvan Church and back through the fields takes about half an hour.
A lovely longer walk through fields and marshland Nature Reserve brings you down to Marazion and its glorious stretch of golden sand with St Michael’s Mount gracing the skyline. Depending on your pace, this takes about an hour from the cottage to the sea.
For a stunning view of Mounts Bay, a good walk up the hill unfolds into beautiful moorland with a number of paths to choose. Again, about an hour’s walk to reach the top of the moorland hill.
A 10-minute walk along the woodland lane below the cottage brings you onto the ancient pilgrim’s route, St Michaels’ Way that crosses West Cornwall from coast to coast (12.5 miles) from Lelant to St Michael’s Mount. This path is a wonderful exploration of the countryside and coast and many shorter loop walks can be taken to bring you back to the cottage.
The choice of walking is so varied and guests will find an ordinance survey map at Jassamine Cottage to help plan their routes and enjoy their exploration.
St Ives offers superb sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and surfing, while for those wishing to explore further afield, there is a coastal path in both directions and many beautiful coves, headlands and landmarks (Cape Cornwall, Lands End, Sennen Cove, St Michael’s Mount) within easy driving distance.
