A spacious and striking coastal property with unrivalled sea views of Portreath
Perched above Portreath beach, in an enviable elevated clifftop position, Gooden Heane is a truly special property. A striking home, this coastal retreat has been superbly executed with its contemporary architectural design and effortless style.
Taking full advantage of its location, Gooden Heane has uninterrupted sea views, maximised by the floor-to-ceiling windows which feature throughout the property. Or perhaps you’d rather appreciate the coastal outlook from the wonderful outdoor space here? There’s no better spot than the bubbling hot tub on the terrace. Spaciously sleeping eight, this property is designed with an upside-down layout to best benefit from its coastal outlook and provide the perfect space for group entertaining.
On the first floor is where you’ll find luxury living at its best. The open-plan kitchen and dining area leads directly onto the extensive patio to allow guests to embrace alfresco dining in the Cornish sunshine. The pristine kitchen, which is contemporary in style, comes fully equipped for all of your cooking needs. A minimalist approach, high-spec appliances are integrated, including an induction hob, electric double oven with grill, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Thoughtful touches include a boiling water tap and coffee lovers will appreciate the bean-to-cup coffee machine and milk frother. There’s a sizeable kitchen island complete with four bar stools, while the dining area with large table and plush chairs, comfortably seats eight.
Equally impressive is the living area; with sliding doors leading to the sun terrace, this is a relaxing space for guests to chill after a day at the beach. Complete with two sinkable sofas and two relaxing chairs, a Bose speaker, and a modern log-burner for those cosy nights in.
The luxury continues downstairs, where guests will float away to the land of nod in one of the four well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom suite boasts a lavish super-king bed and large floor-to-ceiling windows on both walls for inside-outside living, with sliding doors leading out to the patio and garden. The ensuite bathroom features a bath with shower over, and you’ll also be spoilt by sea views.
There are three further bedrooms, one features a zip ‘n’ link bed which can be set up as a superking or two singles; while the remaining two feature superking beds, and each benefit from large windows with a door leading to the garden and patio, affording far-reaching sea views. All bedrooms come equipped with large wall-mounted smartTVs and plenty of storage. This floor also has the luxurious family bathroom, which feature a modern freestanding bath, where you’ll enjoy sea views as you soak. There’s also an additional shower room and separate utility space.
The sizeable fully-enclosed garden gives plenty of space as it wraps around the property. Guests can hunker down around the fire pit with eight wooden chairs – a wonderful spot to toast marshmallows and watch the Cornish sun go down. We understand that you may not want to leave the delights of Gooden Heane, but you’re well placed to explore what Cornwall has to offer with Porthtowan, Gwithian, and Godrevy just a few miles drive away.
Please note that this property does have two staircases (one interior and one exterior) which could be potentially hazardous to young guests, particularly toddlers finding their feet. Guests are responsible for taking their own safety precautions. Children and pets must be supervised due to cliff edge on the other side of the fence.
