Danish Cabin nestled in the woods
Stunning views, combined with the possibility of an adventure that connects you with nature, make Kudhva a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. ‘Kudhva’ is the Cornish word for a hideout and nestled within Kudhva is The Danish Cabin.
Architect, Louise, designed The Danish Cabin to be at one with its natural surroundings. This property invites visitors to disconnect from the pressures of modern life and technology. It incorporates sliding, moveable walls that allow the cabin to extend the living area out into the forest. Kudhva is about taking time to recentre; from exploring the abandoned quarry, wild swimming in the reservoir, rock climbing and walking.
This property sleeps six, with two bunk beds on the mezzanine floor and two single sofa beds on the bottom floor which can be put together to create one double bed. The Danish Cabin has a large fire pit outside and outside cooking is encouraged by the site.
The site is set on an abandoned quarry that closed in the 1890s and the presence of the slate and the nature of the landscape are very much incorporated into this stunning site.
Facilities:
Nobody will be bored at Kudhva! Without leaving the site guests can wild swim in the reservoir, stretch out with a yoga session, pick their own food wild foraging, relax in the hot tub, explore the quarry and even have a go at rock climbing.
Outside the grounds, Kudhva is ideally located for spending time in the sea at Trebarwith Strand. Be that surfing, snorkeling, paddleboarding or even just swimming and taking in the natural surroundings.
Whilst campfires are part of the experience at Kudhva, those wanting a night off from the cooking would be well advised to visit The Port William at Trebarwith Strand, which serves great meals with fantastic views overlooking the ocean. Nearby, Tintagel also has a range of local eateries to choose from, a Cornish pasty from The Cornish Bakery is surely a must.
Further afield, Bude is a traditional seaside town offering sandy beaches, waterside activities (on its canal, as well as in the sea), bars, restaurants and shopping. An adventure further south will bring you to Padstow, where food lovers gather to indulge in local cuisine and sit by the harbour taking in the sights and sounds of the seaside.
