Spectacular Grand Designs House

If you dream of spending time with family and friends in a light, spacious contemporary property in Cornwall, this secluded spot along the charming Camel Estuary is unmissable.

Like something from Grand Designs, it offers everything from spectacular views to designer gardens, and the assistance of your very own housekeeper for a truly incredible staycation.

Special event? Time to party? Family gathering?

Think big and focus on fun, for you can do it all in this spectacular house with its sparkling roof terrace and 360-degree view over the Camel Estuary, an inland section within an area of outstanding natural beauty.  Sleeping up to sixteen, the house boasts a live-in housekeeper, a hot tub, private boat mooring, and designer gardens.

There are unrivalled views of Padstow from this beautifully-designed house, created using local materials; it has wonderful facilities, too including you own gym.  You can even book a private chef for that unique celebratory touch, while the live-in housekeeper will be happy to arrange activities for you, be it yoga teachers, fitness trainers, beauty therapists or water sports.

In a radical departure from Cornish tradition, this stylish cube house uses bold and beautiful rugged slate, wood, and glass, yet is also eco-conscious with cosy underfloor geo-thermal heating. Sweep along the track to this secret spot to find an artist-designed house with a crown of glass providing spectacular all-round views catching each light-change.  You and yours will enjoy top-notch comfort in this extraordinary setting.

This unique place in an unbelievable location, will provide you with the gold-standard holiday of your dreams, close to foodie Padstow (renowned for gourmet eating) and sandy Rock, but also handy for Poldark country and Port Isaac, it is right on the eighteen mile Camel Trail, ideal for cycling and walking. The path from Rock to Polzeath is utterly beautiful.

Unadorned, as nothing can compare with the view, the house boasts cool sophistication, with its spacious bedrooms, stylish but comfortable over-sized furniture by Conran, along with a warming open fire.  The dining table upstairs seats twenty, the music system and multi-media room will work with your Spotify/Netflix, and the kitchen offers Le Creuset dining with all the high spec equipment you would expect to make cooking/dining a superbly sociable event.

Outdoors is a firepit, a barbecue, and the blissful cedar hot tub, in a designer garden containing Sophie Ryder sculptures.  You will be unable to resist her characterful pumpkin swing seat.  The second floor has a south-facing terrace for al fresco dining.

Here, the very cream of Cornwall is at your feet for beaches, sea and surf, walks, culture, golf and fine dining.

Your Wadebridge cottage is situated in the north of Cornwall and has lots to do for all the family. For those with an adventurous spirit, why not pack a picnic and head out for a bike ride on the Camel Trail, which ends at the fishing village of Padstow. Padstow has become well known for its food scene and popularity with the country’s top chefs.

While you are there, why not pick up some local produce to take back to your holiday cottage for dinner time. Rick Stein has a wonderful deli here, along with a bakery and much more. Though it is widely known that Chough’s sell the best pasties around!

Padstow itself is more known for its harbour than beaches. However, being on the wild north coast, beautiful  sandy spots are not very far away at all. Daymer Bay, Harlyn Bay and Constantine Bay are all in easy reach, plus lesser known Mother Ivey’s Bay and Booby’s Bay are certainly worth a visit. And around five miles of south of Padstow, Porthcothan Bay is a large sandy beach which is popular with families and surfers alike.

If you are visiting in Springtime, then pay a visit to Pentire Head, which is famed for its fields of poppies which colour the landscape in vibrant red. A perfect setting for the must have Instagram snapshot. Plus, it sits right on top of Polly Joke Beach which is a stunning cove to spend a few hours at.

There is also lots of fun to be had at the go kart circuit at nearby St Eval and The Camel Creek Adventure Park, which has plenty of rides to keep everyone happy. We’re sure it will tire out even the most energetic of little ones! They will sleep well, back at the cottage.

Of course, your holiday is the best time to indulge in a little glass of something special. Wine lovers might like to take a tour of the Trevibban Mill Cornish Vineyard, an award winning winery that Cornwall is very proud of. However, being in Cornwall, it wouldn’t be right to not mention the Haywood Cider Farm just a few miles away in St Mabyn, with 14 orchards and organised tours, there is a lot to see.

With so much to do, you’ll need to refuel. So, make sure to stop by the Atlantic Coast Express, where you can enjoy coffee and snacks on the beach with an amazing view. Or, if you are looking for something more substantial, then a special meal at Zachry’s Restaurant at Watergate Bay is the ideal way to soak up the stunning Cornish sunsets.

This area has more to offer than we can fit in and your Wadebridge holiday cottage is a great place to explore from.
