These bedrooms share the contemporary family bathroom with rich turquoise tiling and gold accents, plus a bath with shower over. The two remaining bedrooms are on the upper level. Both boasting lavish king-size beds, ensuite shower rooms. Additionally, there’s a cosy nook, on this upper mezzanine level. A two-minute drive, or ten-minute downhill walk and you’ll arrive at Crackington Haven. Nestled between dramatic cliffs and lush green hills, the beach is a sheltered, pebbly beach that transforms into golden sand at low tide, revealing rock pools perfect for exploring. The beach is lifeguarded in summer, making it safe for swimming and popular with bodyboarders. The village offers essential amenities including The Cabin Cafe, the Coombe Barton Inn pub, and a village shop. With access to the South West Coast Path, it’s ideal for walkers seeking scenic cliff-top views.
You’re not far from popular Cornish villages, Boscastle (7 miles) and Tintagel (9 miles), or head to Trebarwith Strand (14 miles), with its sea-view pub and fabulous beach. If you’re looking to discover hidden coves, nearby you’ll find Strangles Beach and Millook Haven, both worth a visit.
When heading north, the next largest beach is Widemouth Bay, which sits just a couple of miles south of Bude and while it benefits from all that Bude has to offer, is a slightly quieter setting. It is a beachside village dotted with cafes and bars, plus everything you need for a great day at the beach. Surf hire and surf schools are available and there is a very chilled out feeling to this area.
Bude is a 10 mile drive away and there are two sandy beaches located in the town itself, Summerleaze Beach and Crooklets Beach. Both have beach huts available for hire and overlooking Summerleaze Beach is the Bude Sea Pool, which is a free tidal swimming pool that is run and maintained by a team of volunteers (so donations are welcomed). Other beaches only a couple of miles away from Bude are Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth Beach, all of which showcase dramatic scenery.
If you are seeking an active holiday, then Bude has a number of surf, paddleboard and adventure activity schools to help you have fun, whilst staying safe. Bude’s beaches are favoured with surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders. There are surf hire huts too, for those who are just ‘trying it out’.
The Bude canal has fun for all the family with pedal boats and rowing boats for hire, followed by a spot of shopping on the canal side at The Wharf, where you will find many local artisan items for sale. Throughout summer, there is also the Bude Farmers Market held each Friday and you can also find a proper Cornish ice-cream here to cool down with.

Message the teamReally cannot recommend enough for the most picturesque landscapes and sunsets, it’s brilliantly located for the beach and welcoming village pub, and the owners have thought of every detail to make staying there an easy pleasure. What we loved about it was that you could do as much or as little as you felt like; there’s a plethora of panoramic walks, water sports or local attractions to enjoy, equally you could do nothing but relax in the garden or hot tub…and the beds are so comfy we all slept well. We thought it was great for all ages and cannot wait to return when the opportunity arises”.
