About

Barefoot Beach House is all about location, style, atmosphere and relaxing. Fantastically situated in a quiet road in the heart of the old fishing quarter next to the Island, yet a stone’s throw to Porthgwidden, Porthmeor and Harbour Beaches as well as local shops, galleries, pubs, cafes and numerous restaurants. This truly is a perfect location and from home to home.

Barefoot Beach House has recently been renovated and refurnished to an exacting high standard. A reverse level home situated in the Downalong area of St Ives. On the ground floor there are three cosy bedrooms including a king, a small double and a bunk bed room which is perfect for children or young adults. All of the bedrooms on the ground floor have been equipped with TVs. A shower room with WC and wash basin is also located on this floor. Barefoot Beach House has been furnished to a very high standard and is also both comfortable and stylish.

Upstairs you will find the open plan contemporary ‘loft’ style living space, with its high beamed ceilings which fill the space with natural light all day long. The well equipped kitchen and living space with ample and cosy seating for all the family to enjoy makes this the perfect entertaining space. A Smart TV is available in the sitting area with many extra channels as well as Amazon Prime and Netflix. Barefoot Beach House has a small courtyard at the front of the property which is gated for the little ones. It also has bench seating for relaxing at the end of the day.

Barefoot Beach House is perfectly fitting for families. Just a stones throw away from Porthgwidden, Porthmeor and Harbour Beaches as well as local shops, galleries, pubs, cafes and numerous restaurants. A short walk to the famous Island which has a car park available near by. Barefoot Beach House is the perfect hub for exploring all that St Ives has to offer.

Whilst the traditional cottage layout offers smaller accommodation for six, the enviable location means holiday life dips in and out of the hubbub of St Ives.

Activities

St Ives is located in western Cornwall. There is plenty to do in St Ives and it is a fantastic location if you plan on exploring a little further afield too.

One of St Ives most well-known attractions is the Tate St Ives, which is one of only four Tate galleries in the UK and is a haven for lovers of modern art. Artists praise St Ives for its beautiful light and it has inspired many pieces.

The cobbled streets of St Ives are home to many shops, galleries and cafes and most businesses are small independents or artisans. Check out Cornwall Soapbox for handmade soaps and aromatherapy products made in Cornwall!

When visiting St Ives, there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Porthminster Kitchen regularly receives great reviews and has a strong focus on fresh local food or head to Blas Burgerworks for a tasty handcrafted burger using ingredients sourced from the area.

For beach lovers, there are plenty to choose from… St Ives Harbour Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Porthkidney Beach or Carbis Bay to name but a few. Families and couples will enjoy relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. St Ives Surf School offers sessions for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. All great fun! If you prefer to stay a little drier though, St Ives Boat Trips run sea-life safaris to see the local dolphins and seals!

St Ives sits at the bottom of the A30, so if you are looking to explore more of the Cornwall coast, then this is a great base and you can book ferries for day trips to the Scilly Isles from Penzance (only a 20 minute drive away).
