The South West Coast Path is breathtakingly beautiful along the Bude stretch, and dogs are welcome along the full length of the coastal path. Head west to Widemouth Bay, where you’ll find Black Rock Beach which is dog-friendly all-year round with a fabulous café where dogs are greeted with a smile.
In the summer head to Sip + Sea at Northcott Mouth with your pooch, the walk there over the cliffs from Bude will build up an appetite or check out the Brendon Arms near Bude’s Canal with a great beer garden and bar area where dogs can join. Your dog will be spoilt on your Bude holiday.

Most popular options for canines and their owners include Meadowside, which is located on a quiet road which leads directly to Bude’s canal and cycle path. Up to two dogs can stay at Ravenscourt, which has generous gardens for dogs to enjoy.
Looking for where to visit with your dog in and around Bude? If it’s sand, rockpools and the sea that you’re after then it has to be nearby Black Rock beach in Widemouth Bay which can be accessed by the magnificent South West Coast Path.
Bude Canal offers a flat walk for you and your dog. It’s a wildlife wonderland and popular choice with dog walkers, so it’s best to keep dogs on a lead. Walk along to The Weir Café where your dog will be treated to water bowls and a complimentary dog biscuit or two. You can also join up to the We have direct access to the Whalesborough trail on to Widemouth Bay through the countryside.
For something a little different, The Castle Bude is a dog-friendly venue every day except dog free Mondays. Bring dogs on a journey through history on a short lead, and reward them with a stroll around the Castle Grounds after.
