The Mariners pub in Rock was relaunched by Paul and Emma Ainsworth in May 2019. Overlooking the Camel Estuary, it’s open Monday to Saturday offering an all-day menu of splendour.
Championing Cornish and British produce, the menu – designed by Paul and head chef Joe Rozier – features award-winning meat from Philip Warren, fish from Flying Fish Seafoods and Padstow Kitchen Garden, and at the bar you’ll see plenty of tempting tipples from St Austell Brewery.
For us, it’s all about The Mariners British classics, executed exceptionally well. From smaller plates such as the Cornish Tamworth’s and sage Scotch egg, or larger “dogs pollock” – a crisp pollock hot dog served with pickled cucumber, triple mustard, dill and parmesan, and salty skinny fries. Or what better place for fish and chips? Diners can enjoy line caught cod, triple-cooked Yukon Gold chips with The Mariners condiments.
