The Grapes, Falmouth

For a dog-friendly eating experience, check out The Grapes alehouse at Falmouth. The Grapes was founded in the 1700s on Fish Strand Quay, the first port of call for seafarers.

Now it is an independent family-run pub in the heart of the town, it overlooks the fabulous Fal estuary, so check out the panoramic views out to the water at the back (the front is town-centre facing).

Priding itself on locally-sourced, home-made food, you will find fish from St Ives and Cornish beef in the Sunday roasts and burgers and the pub prides itself on serving freshly cut and cooked chips from the finest Cornish potatoes. No frozen stuff served here!

Cornish ales and ciders accompany the food. Lunch, brunch, afternoon tea. You name it, it’s an option to spend some down time with your dog. Yes, your well-behaved four-legged friend is most welcome, too. Water will be available and there might even be a doggy biscuit in the offing.
