There are a variety of water sports on offer at St Ives Surf School.
Beyond the cobbled streets and cottages, St Ives has some glorious beaches, just perfect for surfing. Learn the art of surfing on Blue-Flag Porthmeor beach with a team of highly experienced coaches.
With good protection from the prevailing wind, yet enough Atlantic swell to give some wonderful waves, the surf school caters for absolute beginners, through to those ready to go ‘out back’.
You will be kitted out with the gear, given safety instructions and be shown how to catch waves, or for experienced surfers, to push your potential to achieve new goals.
Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is more sedate with easy to learn basics. You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings while also taking on a pleasant core body workout without even going near a gym.
The daredevil within may enjoy coasteering, from Porthminster Beach: jumps, traversing rocks, floating through gullies, sea swimming and exploring caves. Or perhaps a scenic spot of kayaking literally floats your boat.
If you prefer to paddle an independent route, then equipment hire is also available.
