Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle

Date Posted: 24 Jun 2020

For animal lovers, Paradise Park is a perfect day out for the whole family.

With over 130 species of birds including cheery, colourful macaws and Abyssinian lovebirds among other bright sparks in the parrot family, it is also home to rare red squirrels, short-clawed otters, pygmy goats and red pandas. Children and adults alike will adore the miniature donkeys.

During summer, shows and events are included to enable you to have a close encounter with the animals, from feeding the penguins to petting the fun farm animals. There are also bird shows.

As a centre to conserve the red-beaked Cornish chough, a species which nearly died out in the 1970s, the sanctuary is working hard to maintain its permanent presence back on Cornish cliffs.

Meanwhile, the splendid, colourful gardens complement the exotic animals in a beautiful setting to enjoy flowers, walks, aviaries and carp ponds.

Other, noisier attractions include the Jungle Barn indoor play centre with giant slides, and a toddler soft play area to burn off some energy. Parents can also use the slides so make sure you take socks!

No wildlife park is complete without a little train (this one is called Zebedee) which takes a ride around the house grounds, a rest for little legs and a short break for Mums and Dads.

There is so much to see and do here, you need to plan a day to visit.
