Marazion is Cornwall’s oldest town, a quaint place boasting picturesque streets with galleries and gift shops in West Cornwall. It also the best place to see the iconic St Michael’s Mount which sits just 500 metres from the coast.
Marazion has a wonderfully sheltered location, within the famous Mount’s Bay area. The two beaches in the town are Marazion and Longrock Beach, both stunning in their own right but rarely have waves during the summertime. However if you’re after alternative watersports, the Hoxton Special offers kite-surfing lessons, power kiting, and kiteboarding, alongside SUP, Paddleboard and Kayak Hire. However, if it’s the carve you crave, the nearest surfing beaches are Gwithian Towans on the north coast or Praa Sands on the south coast, both taking around 20 minutes by car.
Truly serene in the evening, Marazion is the perfect spot for a gorgeous Cornish sunset, with the backdrop of the castle on the mount being hard to compete with.
Here you’ll find all you need to know about Marazion’s weather, tide and surf forecast, keeping you prepared for your trip.
