Just a few minutes’ stroll from Bude town centre, family-friendly Crooklets Beach has it all. With RNLI lifeguards on duty in summer and fabulous eateries just moments from the sand. Browse our nearest cottages below and start planning your beach retreat.
A short stroll north of Bude town, Crooklets is a wide, west-facing sweep of golden sand framed by rocky headlands. It’s the locals’ go-to for beach-break waves and big, open skies; at low tide it links with Summerleaze to create an enormous strand, while at high tide the bay narrows to a dramatic, surfy crescent. RNLI lifeguards usually patrol in summer, making it a confident choice for seasoned bodyboarders and fledgling wave-chasers alike.
Dogs follow seasonal bans here in the summer months, and the South West Coast Path runs right above the beach for cliff-top rambles to Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth. The Bude Sea Pool is a short, scenic walk away — across the sands at lower tides or via the coast path over Summerleaze Downs.
