ESPRESSO, GIN & TONIC – LIGHT & REFRESHING

We were intrigued to try this curious riff on the classic G&T. The mesmerising visual effect of the two liquids mixing is stunning. You can’t beat that wonderful coffee hit that comes with a fresh espresso. We played around with a couple of different syrups including one made with rosehips and settled on lavender and lemon as it brought a welcome floral sweetness to the drink. The savoury wild botanicals in the gin bring balance to the sweet elements.
• 25ml Porthilly Spirit Cornish Coastal Gin
• Double espresso, we used Yallah Debeka beans
• 12.5ml lavender & lemon sugar syrup (click here to find out Porthilly’s syrup recipe)
• Topped with Indian tonic water
Fill a highball glass with ice. Next add the gin and sugar syrup, before topping with tonic water, remembering to leave space for the espresso.
Finally pour in the espresso and stir.
