North Cornwall Beaches

If you want drama, go north. Weathered over centuries by wild Atlantic westerlies, the steep landscape here has been carved by the sea, but don’t neglect the geology and the clifftops. Pink thrift bejewels the rocks here in this scenic, naturally beautiful paradise, where rugged cliffs hug secluded coves.

For the surfers, it is the north coast every time. Newquay is said to be surfing’s mecca, but don’t forget slightly more sedate but very family-friendly Bude, also superb for surfing and the gentler bodyboarding.

Whatever you enjoy doing, the north coast is unashamedly rugged, with dunes, jagged cliffs, and surf-kissed beaches

Many (such as Perranporth and Godrevy) feature miles of golden sand for summer sunbathing and family fun, or bracing stormy winter walks. The most popular ones are lifeguarded by the RNLI during the summer months for safer surfer and swimming.

Noted for their quality and variety, we list some of the best ones for you here.
